Ntuli clan names derive from the Zulu people of South Africa. These clan names have been in existence for centuries and help preserve Zulu culture and heritage.
Ntuli clan names are not simply surnames but rather a naming system which honours the Zulu ancestors, and which runs across multiple families.
The Ntuli people were a zulu clan in South Africa that held their own chiefdom title. They dwelled near the Thukela River’s bank in Kwazulu-Natal.
They were instrumental in the zulu counterraid at Middle Drift in June 1879 under the command of Godide kaNdlela and Mavumengwana kaNdlela, sons of Ndlela kaSompisi. They were promoted to John Robert Dunn’s chiefdom after Zululand was divided up.
